Christmas Light Tour
This
years Christmas Light Tour started at George and Betty Gunther's in
Long Beach. Cars slowly started arriving at 4:30 P.M.
George had his General Store open for everyone to enjoy the player
pianos, and all of the interest antiques he had on display. As
people began to arrive they were treated to appetizers and beverages.
This was a great start to an enjoyable evening of Holiday touring.
Around 5:30 P.M. Tom Leroux had a quick drivers meeting, where he gave
a small talk on where the tour would be headed, and stepped through
the directions that were handed out. After the drivers meeting,
everyone jumped into their T's and started down PCH towards
Westminster. Here we were greeted by a magnificent display of
lights. There were about 12 to 14 houses that were completely
decked out in lights, carrousels, Christmas trees, and Holiday
displays. If these residents were to receive one Christmas card
this year, no doubt it would be from our friends at Southern
California Edison.
Once we were done, we began to head back towards Long Beach to Best
Place Cafe for dinner. At dinner everyone was engrossed in
conversation and T talk. This made for a wonderful evening with
friends and family.
There were a total of 30 people, and 10 to 12 antique cars on the
tour. Thanks goes out to George and Betty Gunther for inviting
the club to their home. We would also like to give special
thanks to Tom Leroux for all his hard work on this tour, and the last
year as Tour Chairman. As most members have helped organize a
tour or two, we can appreciate all the time and dedication that goes
into a job like this. Thank you.
