This
tour started out like all tours, we left Long Beach on our way to
O’Neill Park. Some of our members were lost within the first 5 miles.
Wrong turns. We all got together again and were on our way. Up
Chapman Ave. and over the hills, past Irvine Lake. It was a great day
for a tour, sun shining.
About 3 miles from the park Howard broke an axle going up a hill. He
stooped to let cars go buy and when he went to take off his wheel fell
off. Talk about lucky, another 50 yards and he would have been
traveling down a step hill.
We had a nice lunch and got Howard off with a tow truck. On the way
back home Stan had break trouble with his Rocky Mountain brakes, smoke
was coming out on the right rear. He adjusted them and we were off
again. Coming over the top of another hill John Hinton was stopped
with Jim and Karen Davis. John had a rod knock. Another tow truck as
called. Jim and Karen Davis, the Leroux’s and John waited two hours
for a tow truck. It was a long day for our short tour, but everyone
got home safe and had fun. Where can you have two guys break down,
smile, and thank you for putting on a good tour? The people in this
club are great.
Thanks to everyone that came out on this tour. For those that missed
this fun day, toooo bad! But don’t worry; you will have another
chance to tour with us in November when we deliver Thanksgiving
baskets to the some deserving families of Tucker Elementary School.
I hope to see you at this worthwhile event.
