What
a great turn out we had for this food drive! 18 members from our club
took the time and day off work to help out. We arrived at Performance
Tire In Long Beach. Joyce Feldman had all the 43 boxes with a $20.00
gift card in each box ready for delivery. She had maps with addresses
and times for delivery. Joyce & the Girl Scouts put in a lot of work
and did a great job. Things went good with only a few people not home
to get their box of food. Julie and myself made some, (after 4 pm),
late deliveries and were out until 6:30pm.
I would like to thank everyone that donated food, gave money, helped
package and deliver food boxes. This was a very good event for our
club and a very touching thing we did. When you dropped off the boxes
of food and saw the look on the recipient’s faces in the condition
some people have to live in, be thankful for what you have. Thank you
all.
