The
21st Annual CAPS Show
August 12, 2005
We had a great
time at last month’s tour to the Phonograph show in Buena Park.
Everyone met up at The Bagelry at 9:30, and promptly toured up Spring
Street to the show. Once we got there, members were treated to a
variety of music and the machines that played them. Few people walked
around empty handed. There were numerous Phonographs, vintage record
players, and records to be found. Will and Susan Campbell didn’t
escape without buy a few things. Just before we left for lunch they
purchased a vintage record player, with a cabinet in excellent
condition. This will definitely make a great edition to their home.
Bob Burchett had sold most of his good, but was eagerly trying to find
a taker for his 26/27 Model T steering wheel. He almost had one guest
convinced that it was a special tool used to wind up various types of
phonographs, but he didn’t bite. The Model T’s were lined up out in
front of the show for the participants and the guests to enjoy. There
were a lot of questions, as well as pictures taken. The Cars were
definitely well received.
After the show, the club then toured back to Cypress for a lunch at
El Torrito. During lunch were all treated to the sounds of military
fighter jets landing at the Joint Military base in Los Alamitos (my
ears are still ringing). All in all, it was an laid back and relaxing
day to enjoy the Model T’s.
