Orange
County Model A Club's
Pancake Breakfast
March 26th,
2006
The March Tour took us to Hart Park in
Orange County for the Annual Orange County Model A Ford Club Pancake
Breakfast. This years event was dedicated to the late John Heiland
who promoted the Model T and Model A hobby for so many years.
The club which consisted of 11 Model T’s and 4 Model A’s promptly left
The Bagelry in Long Beach at 7:30 A.M. and made our way to Hart Park.
Once there we were grouped up in the Model T portion of the show along
with the Orange County Model T Club and The Model T Club of Southern
California. After everyone was parked and settled in club members
began to wander the show and have breakfast.
As usual this years show brought out a multitude of Model A’s and other
vintage vehicles, including a total of 24 Model T’s. There were Model
A’s of every year and style. Some were in original condition, some in
show condition, while some were equipped with era speed equipment such
as John Heiland’s Model A shown below. This year we had the
cooperation of the weather which made it made it a very pleasant to
walk around.
After breakfast the Long Beach and Orange County Model T Clubs drove to
the Fullerton Arboretum to have a stroll thru the gardens, and for
some enjoy a picnic lunch.
Many walked around and viewed the scenic views of Spring of the
arboretum, while others visited the on sight nursery to beatify their
own gardens.
I’d like to thank all of the members who participated on the tour and
hope to see you at future club events. Be sure to mark your calendars
for May 21st, when we join other clubs from Southern California for a
Model T Pancake Breakfast and Ice Cream Social hosted by Loco Larry.
