Super
Cruise Sunday III
At Hillco Fastener Warehouse
February 4, 2007
Super Bowl Sunday, February 4,
2007 found us all gathering at Tom Leroux’s place of business known as
Hoist Service, in Garden Grove, at about 8:30 for coffee and donuts.
We parked our cars in a row outside Tom’s shop because this year the
HILCO event has enlarged to about 150 cars so they are scattered all
over the grounds and in front of all of the local places of business
in the businesses park on Western Avenue. Actually, the real word was
that Hillco had just cleaned up their concrete parking lot and did not
want a bunch of Model T’s dripping dirty hot oil on their just cleaned
surface. A local group of soccer moms had set up a temporary kitchen
and were selling assorted delicious Mexican foods to the attendees and
foot traffic. Later on at about noon, the Hilo folks held a drawing
from the tickets handed out as each attendee registered. Very nice
door prizes were awarded and many folks were happy with their gifts.
The Hilo Fastener Company is located just north of Tom’s Hoist Service
headquarters on Western Avenue in Garden Grove . Hillco sells nuts,
bolts and specialty fasteners for on and off road vehicles built
between the 30’s and the modern era. The event was over at noon and
everyone departed for home to watch the Super Bowl.
