Presidents Message
Thank you to John and Chris Craig, Duane Studer, Dean Grose and Jeff
Hood for joining me at the MYART production. This was an excellent
opportunity for the club to show our presence in the community. The
children were thrilled to ride in the old cars and the parents and staff
were most appreciative. The real reward was seeing the pleasure emited
from the children’s faces.
Our
annual “safety check” had a great turnout. We discovered a few serious
problems that were resolved with Greg George and John Von Karvaly’s
aid. Big thanks go to them for all the work they did. Ted Bridges
trailered his beautifully restored 1911 Brush and after Sergio and
team’s effort the car, which had been dormant for 25 years, was able
once again to be driven. Larry Haney worked the whole day on his brass
T and at the end of the day was able to drive it again. The food was
good and only surpassed by the camaraderie. More than once I was asked
why we don’t do this more than once a year. Thanks to Joe Brun, Dave
Taylor and Tom Leroux for all the preparation they did to make this
happen.
This month we will drive our Model T’s to “The Church of the Angels” in
Pasadena. It was constructed in 1889 and is patterned after an 11th
century church in Dorking, England. It is a hand hewn stone
structure with a 47’ clock tower. Father Robert has graciously allowed
us to climb the tower to see the 1880’s Seth Thomas clock and to allow
Chris Rini to play the Roosevelt pipe organ. If you would like to see
more information, go to www.coa-pasadena.org.

The
program this month will be how to properly service front wheel bearings.
Hope to see you there.
