Hello Club Members

Well I don't know where this month went it seems like only yesterday the Editor was asking for my input to the May Magneto News.

The Hot Cars and Cool Customers Car Show, a joint effort by the Long Beach Model T Club and the Harbor Area Model A Club was a great success. We had seven Model Ts and fourteen Model As for a total of twenty-one cars and over twenty-five members from both clubs. Goodman Distribution treated us to an outstanding lunch and was so pleased with the turn out of their Vendors and the two car Clubs that they asked both clubs to plan to come back next year.

After a while you did not know one member from another. it looked like just one big car club out having fun. I am sure some new friends were made that day. Some model A members had never rode in a model T and it was a thrill for some of them to be given a ride. The pedals surprise them the most, and when the T took off they wanted to know what made it go and how did you stop it.

The Historian of the Model A club makes a DVD of all club events and Sue said that she would make a copy for Jeff to show at one of our meetings.

The next big event for the club will be the June 12th Aviation Day at Rancho Dominguez. Look for all the information in this month’s Magneto News.

Now let me say: the Model A Club beat us in our own back yard when they came to the Hot Cars and Cools Customers show by 14 to 7 cars. Let’s show them what we can do when we put our minds to it. The Model A Club will be there along side the Model T Club. Let’s make this day for us to shine.
